How we work together.
Editorial is at the center of Workprint, led by David and a small group of editors we’ve worked with for years. Around that core is a trusted team across design, animation, VFX, color, sound and finishing: people we know and work with regularly.
What we don’t do.
- We don’t cut free samples to win a bid. We talk through references and approach instead.
- We don’t hide the team. You’ll know who’s actually making the work.
- We don’t overbook. If we can’t give the project the attention it needs, we’ll say so.
Pricing.
We quote per project, from your deliverables and timeline.
Questions.
- How long does a typical project take?
- Depends on the scope: amount of footage, rounds of revisions, deliverables, whether design and animation are involved. We’ll give you a realistic timeline once we understand what you’re working with.
- Do you work with agencies or direct to brands?
- Both. We take direction from agency creatives and work directly with brand teams.
- How do you feel about the phrase “we’ll fix it in post”?
- We hate it. Post isn’t a magic eraser, it’s part of the creative process. Bring us in early and we’ll help you avoid problems, not just patch them later.
- What’s your favorite meal?
- Charcuterie board. Good ingredients, no cooking required, and it pairs well with tight deadlines.
- How do I get started?
- Email [email protected] or use the contact form: what you’re making and when it’s due. We reply within one business day.
David.
I started Workprint to build the kind of post setup I always liked working in: small, direct and close to the cut. We’ve built a group of people we trust across every part of post, and a lot of us have been working together for years. I’m usually editing or close enough to the work to know exactly where things stand. No unnecessary layers, no making the process bigger than it needs to be. Just good people making good work together.
David Nitzsche founded Workprint in 2020. Before that he cut at Prologue Pictures, Troika, We Are Royale, Trailer Park and The Mill. Ohio roots, LA now. Runner, dad.
His edits have won a Promax Gold (NFL Kickoff, 2021) and an Emmy nomination (Nat Geo: Breakthrough).
The name.
Workprint /ˈwərkˌprint/ The working cut, before picture lock. It’s where the real decisions get made, so we named the studio after it.
